Socket Weld Forged Fittings
Socket Weld Forged Fittings are forged from a solid billet and machined with a socket into which the pipe is inserted before being fillet welded in place. This gives a smooth, uninterrupted internal bore with no weld penetration into the flow path.
Royal Steel India manufactures a complete range of Socket Weld Forged Fittings to ASME B16.11 dimensions, for small-bore, high-pressure piping where a permanent, leak-tight joint is required.
Types of Socket Weld Forged Fittings
Explore each fitting type available in this connection family.

45° Socket Weld Elbow
Changes the direction of pipeline flow by a gentler 45 degrees, reducing pressure drop.

Socket Weld Half Coupling
Welds onto a run pipe or vessel wall to create a small branch or instrument connection.

Socket Weld Reducing Coupling
Joins two pipes of different diameters in a straight line, without a separate reducer fitting.

Socket Weld Boss
A small forged outlet welded onto equipment or a vessel wall for instrumentation and gauge connections.

Socket Weld Reducing Insert
A small forged insert that reduces a socket's bore to accept a smaller pipe size within the same fitting body.

Socket Weld Outlet
A forged branch outlet welded onto a run pipe to create a smaller socket-weld branch connection, less common than a standard tee.

Socket Weld Adapter
A rarely specified fitting that joins a socket-weld end to a different connection type, such as threaded or buttweld.
